


Scott Stein
Conductor
Scott Stein is a Brooklyn-based pianist, songwriter, conductor and music director. He is an in-demand collaborator who is known for moving seamlessly between genres. In the musical theater world, Scott has served as music director for productions of new works at the New York Musical Festival and the NY Fringe Festival, as well as the off-Broadway production of Wicked Frozen at the St. Luke’s Theater. As a sideman and studio musician, he has work with a wide array of artists including Broadway and American Idol star Constantine Maroulis and Grammy-winning children’s music artist Joanie Leeds.
He has conducted several Jewish choral ensembles and accompanied some of the top cantors in North America. He was also the recipient of the 2007 Guild of Temple Musicians Young Composers Award for his setting of Shirat Hayam (The Song of the Sea). Currently he serves on the faculty of the H.L. Miller Cantorial School at the Jewish Theological Seminary and the Debbie Friedman School of Sacred Music at Hebrew Union College.

Allyssa Lamb
Accompanist / Assistant Conductor
Allyssa Lamb has been working as a pianist, singer and arranger in New York since 1998. She studied vocal music and orchestration at the Colorado College, where she received a B.A. in Music and graduated magna cum laude.
In addition to performing regularly around North America and Europe with her band, Las Rubias del Norte, Allyssa plays with many New York artists. She was the choirmaster for Ethan Lipton’s concert at Alice Tully Hall, a pianist and vocalist with Greta Gertler, and a soloist and chorus member in Judith Berkson’s opera, The Vienna Rite. In the course of her career, Allyssa has performed at the Montreal Jazz Festival, the Sines Festival in Portugal, Alice Tully Hall, BBC Radio, Joe’s Pub, The Today Show, and Carnegie Hall. She appeared as a voice-over artist on the show 30 Rock and has done vocal work for several commercials.
For the last twenty-five years, Allyssa has maintained a full roster of piano and vocal students, serving children of all ages, as well as adults. In addition to teaching, she frequently acts as the accompanist for violin, viola and cello recitals. Allyssa was a member of the New York Choral Society for several years, during which time she developed a love for community choirs. She is thrilled to be joining Shir Chadash as an accompanist this year.
